NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON
REALIGNING COMMISSIONER PRECINCTS
According to the 2010 Census data, Lubbock County's existing Commissioner Precincts are not of sufficiently equal population and must be redrawn in order to comply with the "one-person, one-vote" principle established by the U.S. Constitution and other authority.
The Lubbock County Commissioners Court is therefore considering new boundaries for its Commissioner Precincts and wants to hear from you. Tell us what you think at the Public Hearing described below about the two preliminary illustrative plans for redistricting Commissioner Precincts which have been designated by the Commissioners Court:

The two designated preliminary illustrative plans for redistricting the Lubbock County Commissioner Precincts will be available at the Public Hearing, and they are also available for public inspection during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, at 904 Broadway and 1308 Crickets Avenue from now until the date of the Public Hearing. . In addition, you need to be aware that the Lubbock County Commissioners Court has previously adopted Guidelines for public participation. The Guidelines, among other things, require that comments be submitted in writing, even if you make them orally at the Public Hearing, and all written comments are due by the close of the upcoming Public Hearing. The Guidelines may be found at www.co.lubbock.tx.us
. Any redistricting plans that are proposed must conform to the Criteria previously adopted by the Lubbock County Commissioners Court. The Criteria are found at www.co.lubbock.tx.us
