Road Maintenance

In accordance with Texas State Law and County Policies and subject to the supervision of the County Commissioners Court, the Public Works Department assists in the maintenance of county roads of Lubbock County. We plan, and inspect construction of county road projects. We assist in the planning of new subdivisions, commercial developments, and infrastructure. We also play a crucial role in responding to the needs of the public in the planning, preparing, mitigating and recovery from general emergencies and disasters.

The files for permitted, inspected, and approved septic systems are kept at the Lubbock County Courthouse in suite 1220.
 
Permit Fees:   Residential - $210
  Commercial - $310
Re-Inspection Fee: $105

Stormwater Compliance

Construction projects within Lubbock County are subject to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) General Permit to Discharge Under the Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Stormwater Discharges Associated with Construction Activities TXR 150000.  Any individuals and/or businesses with construction projects that disturb one acre or more and drains into unincorporated Lubbock County must mail a copy of the Construction Site Notice or Notice of Intent to:
