Family Mediation Training Information


Basic Mediation Trainings and Family Mediation Training have been suspended until Lubbock County obtains consent from the Texas Workforce Commission for these courses.

Family Mediation Training is a 24-hour workshop that provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to mediate family related disputes, such as divorces and parent-child relationships. The training integrates the fields of family dynamics, child development and family law with a hands-on approach to enhancing mediation skills and techniques.


D. Gene Valentini has been a mediator since 1981 and an active trainer for the past twenty years. Gene is the Master of Dispute Resolution for the courts of Lubbock County, Dean of Texas ADR System directors, and is an adjunct professor for the Texas Tech University School of Law.

Continuing Professional Education Credits: 24 participatory hours, including 6 ethics
